Christian Education At Resurrection Christian Education is not something that ends with Confirmation, but is a continuous process beginning in childhood and extending throughout adult life. Through it we grow ever closer to the Lord. "Learn from Me", He said (Matthew 11:29) and we do, through Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and special events held during the year. You will find information about all of these here. Sunday School Sunday School for children pre-K through Confirmation meets at 9:30 AM, September through June. It continues to grow every year and, in addition to regular classes, the Sunday School also sponsors an Easter Egg Hunt and presents a Christmas program. The last day of Sunday School in 2008 is May 18. the Sunday School children will be singing at the 10:45 AM service on that day. Pre-schoolers to 6th graders meet in the Sanctuary at 9:30am
for music and then have classes in Fellowship Hall. 7th and 8th graders meet in
Fellowship Hall at 9:30am and then walk over to the Synod Office or class as a
group. Confirmation Our Classes of 2007 and 2008, for students who will be entering grades 7 and 8 have begun. If you are a parent of a 7th or 8th grade student, and are interested in joining the class, please call (609) 586-3355. A Celebration of Confirmation will be held Sunday, October 28, 2007, at 3:00 PM. Vacation Bible School July 14 - 18, 2008, our 4th annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) program was held from 9:00am - Noon. More than 90 children enjoyed a week of crafts, music, games, and learning about our Lord. They were attended to by a volunteer staff of over 20 teachers and assistants. We anticipate another new and exciting program next year. The theme this year was a Rainforest Adventure; we turned our church into a rain forest. Our VBS is set to cover five stations: crafts, music, refreshments, recreation, and bible stories. Teachers lead their students through each of the stations and also spend about 20 minutes class time to talk about the lesson of the day. Adult Bible Study Resurrection offers a Sunday morning Bible study program. Beginning at 9:30 AM, this diversified program offers fellowship, music, commentaries by authors such as William Barclay, Tony Beckett, Woodrow Kroll, C. S. . Lovett, J. Vernon McGee, Kenneth W. Osbeck, and Charles Stanley. Sacred music is played beginning at 9:15 AM, until class begins at 9:30. This year we are studying the book of 1st Corinthians. Join us! |
